The predominant question on everyone’s mind seems to be “is it really possible to make money online”. There have even been segments on Good Morning America addressing this issue. You see, people want an easier lifestyle, they want to work from home. Many are in search of financial freedom. Only there a just so many scams on the internet making false promises. Sadly, many people get burned and loose the hope of ever being able to truly work from home. I myself got burned by a program promising to make one money through surveys and reading emails. Granted, some survey programs are legitimate, but the one I tried was very disappointing. I was frustrated and franticly searching for a legitimate way to generate some additional income. I saw many advertisings about working from home opportunities. I subscribed to a few newsletters and kept getting emails daily for new opportunities. I researched a few and tried to narrow down my options. All I knew was I wanted to be able to have a flexible lifestyle and work when I chose to. I did not want a usual 9 to 5 job working in an office. I realized with all the time I spent on the internet anyway, why not find a way to make some money while doing it. Most importantly, I started thinking about my future and how I could find some way to start generating additional income to put towards saving or current bills.

Unfortunately, there are numerous misleading internet advertisements offering promises of making you rich instantly. Many of such programs are scams. The truth is it actually takes time and effort to build a thriving internet business. I researched numerous work from home opportunities and spent money I didn’t need to be spending. I nearly gave up several times, but there was a part of me that was still determined to find something. Maybe it was my stubborn-like personality or perhaps just persistent hope, but I felt like I couldn’t walk away empty handed. I kept hearing warnings about internet home business scams everywhere I turned. But the truth is part of me thought if there is a real way to make money online I have to find it. Eventually, I did in fact find a proven and legitimate way to successfully generate extra income.

After some time, I began to realize the perks of promoting other people’s products, programs, and services. Affiliate marketing seemed like a great way to go and seemed to be most promising for residual income (recurring income). I actually found it sort of exciting placing my own ads and marketing. In fact, it was much easier than I had expected. Best of all, I found various affiliate programs that offered tutorials and support. Now, one of the key features I noticed in working from home is the need for persistence. I would set aside a few hours a week or even half and hour a day to devote towards my business. I realized I needed to be consistent and include it in part of my daily regimen. You would be very surprised at the results you can achieve with persistence and devoting a little bit of time. I would suggest choosing something that you are passionate about if you take the marketing route as I did. Also, consider products that people are in need of, thus high demand products. Software and e-books sell really well online.

I say don’t get discouraged by the scams out there. It can be disheartening to think you have found an answer only to soon realize you were taken once again. I’d have to say it was my persistence however, that lead me to finding the answer for me. The persistence has definitely paid off. I caution those individuals from promises to make you a millions in a few weeks. The truth is there is money to be made through the internet, only don’t have unrealistic expectations of becoming an overnight millionaire. You have to really build your business and building anything successful takes time. Also, don’t give up and keep your expectations realistic. When I set out to start my internet business in order to start working from home I told myself I will give this about 6 to 9 months and if I haven’t made any sort of money that is benefiting me then I’ll stop. Well, by my third month I really started to notice some changes. I was getting more traffic and even some significant sales. All this is to say, give your business time, the more energy you put into it the faster you will see results. So all in all the results depend a lot on you. More time and more creativity equals more sales.
